The Family Reunion at Salamander
August 20 – August 23

The The Family Reunion is a multi-day culinary and cultural experience held at Salamander Middleburg, a luxury resort in Virginia’s wine country. Founded by chef Kwame Onwuachi, the event celebrates diversity in hospitality while highlighting the influence of Black and global culinary traditions.
Events: Cooking demonstrations, curated dining experiences, panel discussions, workshops, wine tastings, and more
The event brings together some of the top chefs, restaurateurs, and hospitality professionals for a weekend of immersive programming centered around food, culture, and storytelling. Each year features a theme, with 2026 focused on “Folklore: A History of Storytelling,” exploring how recipes and traditions are passed down across generations.
Programming takes place throughout the Salamander Resort, blending educational sessions with social experiences, including shared meals, evening events, and after-parties. The event is designed to feel intimate and immersive, attracting a mix of food enthusiasts, industry professionals, and travelers looking for a high-end cultural experience.
