The Essence Festival of Culture is one of the largest and most influential Black cultural events in the United States, held annually over Fourth of July weekend in New Orleans.

The festival brings together music, entertainment, business, and community through a combination of evening concerts and daytime experiences. Nightly performances take place at the Caesars Superdome, while daytime programming at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center features panels, speakers, wellness experiences, and a marketplace highlighting Black-owned businesses.
Beyond the official programming, the entire city becomes part of the experience. New Orleans comes alive with parties, brunches, and pop-up events throughout the weekend, making it a destination event that extends well beyond the main stages.
Essence Festival attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees each year and continues to serve as a central gathering for Black culture, entrepreneurship, and celebration.
